About Cassie

Cassie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified school counselor with 15 years' experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. She graduated with her Bachelor of Education from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi and with her Master’s in School Counseling from Lamar University. Having worked as a teacher and school counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, Cassie has helped students, and their families, deal with a variety of behavioral, social, and academic issues. 

Cassie Kerns specializes in treating trauma, PTSD, and eating disorders. She also enjoys working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, family or relationship issues, and school and work conflicts. Cassie is trained in EMDR therapy and uses it to aid in the processing of distressing thoughts or memories. Distressing thoughts or memories that go unprocessed become stuck and can impact the perception we have of ourselves and our world. Cassie uses counseling as a way to help clients gain perspective about themselves, their situation, and give them the tools they need to not just survive, but thrive, through life’s challenges. In her spare time, Cassie loves to go to the lake and have outdoor adventures with her amazing husband and 2 sweet boys.
